Oncology Massage & Acupressure -- Parent

In this class, you will gain the skills and confidence to work effectively with clients who are undergoing cancer treatment. This introductory course in Oncology Massage will cover myths, facts, contraindications and adaptations to massage for cancer patients. You will learn about the most common complaints of cancer patients and the research showing how massage can help with these; common side effects of chemotherapy and how to adjust massage to these conditions; and how to adapt massage techniques, pacing, frequency and positioning to maximize client comfort during massage. This course offers you, additionally, a basic sequence of Acupressure points you can incorporate into your massage to address the most common complaints of cancer patients.
